We’re so excited about the prospect of returning to an in-person event this year, joining forces with IoT World to welcome you back with an incredible two-day agenda.

More than ever your safety is of paramount importance, so we are working closely with local health authorities and the Santa Clara Convention Center to provide a safe and healthy environment for all show attendees – delegates, speakers, sponsors, and staff.

In order to keep our delegates, speakers, sponsors, and staff  safe at the event, the following measures will be in place:

  • Attendees will need to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 OR have a negative PCR test or rapid lateral flow test taken within the 48 hours before arriving at the event.

  • All attendees will be required to wear face coverings throughout the event (when not eating or drinking) unless exempt.

  • Should it be necessary, we will work with local authorities to trace and contact participants at the event, subject to local privacy regulations.

We are confident that with these safety measures in place we can run a successful and enjoyable event for all – just ask our attendees from the AI Summit London in September or Black Hat USA in August!

Further measures...

Our parent company, Informa, has collaborated with government and local authorities, association and event partners, venues and contractors to develop industry-wide All Secure event guidelines, that raise the bar on safe, hygienic, productive and high-quality event experiences. We have already successfully delivered face-to-face events this year including Black Hat USA and Data Center World.

The AI Summit Silicon Valley will operate according to these guidelines, as well as any and all safety measures recommended by the government and by Santa Clara Convention Center.

Deep cleaning before, during, and after the event – working with venue partners to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness.

The absolute highest standard of food safety, minimising self-service buffets in favour of pre-packaged food options or serviced buffets. If any queuing is anticipated, physical distancing will be required.

Should it be necessary, we will work with local authorities to trace and contact participants at the event, subject to local privacy regulations.

Recommendation that delegates and participants avoid physical contact. The exchange of printed materials, such as business cards and sales brochures, is discouraged, with digital alternatives recommended.

Density of attendees at any one time during the live event will be in line with local authority regulations and venue guidance. This will be managed through control measures such as pre-show communications, a one-way system around show floors, expanded entry times and on-site physical distance ambassadors.

Safety Measures FAQs

Where will The AI Summit Silicon Valley be held?

The AI Summit Silicon Valley, in partnership with IoT World, will take place November 3-4 at Santa Clara Convention Center.

5001 Great America Pkwy, Santa Clara, CA 95054, United States

Will social distancing measures be in place?

We will encourage attendees to maintain a reasonable distance wherever possible. There will be a one-way system in operation at the event, with crossover points and clearly marked directional signage. We will also be keeping 4 metre-wide aisles throughout the floorspace to accommodate distancing.

Will I be required to wear a mask? Will medical exceptions be allowed?

All attendees, unless exempt, must wear masks throughout the event. Masks will be available to all attendees at no charge, but we encourage you to bring your own.

Mask policy is subject to change, based on national, regional, and/or venue requirements at the time of the event. If you are unable to wear face coverings due to medical reasons, please contact Show Management prior to arrival.

Can you tell me more about hygiene and cleaning at the event?

Additional enhanced measures will be implemented across the event in accordance with California state and local regulations, and following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Deep and thorough cleaning will take place before, during and after each day of the event.

Do I need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to attend the AI Summit Silicon Valley?

We will require all attendees to provide proof either that they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or or can provide proof of a negative test

What other health & safety measures will be in operation?

Additional enhanced measures will be implemented across the event in accordance with California state and local regulations, and following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

  • Deep and thorough cleaning will take place before, during and after each day of the event.
  • Hand sanitizer will be readily available throughout the event.
  • Where possible, contactless systems and processes will be in place to minimize “touch points.”
  • Program materials will be distributed electronically where possible.
  • Health and Safety Ambassadors will be on-site to promote good hygiene and answer questions.
  • Crowd densities and capacities will be managed accordingly.
  • Masks will be available to all attendees at no charge, but we encourage you to bring your own.

Do you have any other advice for attendees?

We are doing everything we can to ensure a safe environment onsite for our attendees. As such, we have some expectations of all participants in the event:

  • Individuals who are immunocompromised or at high risk are encouraged to attend virtually.
  • All event participants are expected to observe and engage in recognised preventive actions to help ensure a safe environment, including frequent hand washing.
  • Individuals should not attend the event if they have tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 14 days or if they are concerned that they have been exposed to the virus within the last 14 days and could possibly test positive.
  • Should an event participant test positive for COVID-19, register a temperature, or become ill during the event, he/she/they should observe recognised quarantining procedures.

How many attendees do you expect this year?

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 regulations, and with the safety of our attendees in mind, we are running at a reduced capacity in-person this year.

We are confident though that whilst numbers may be reduced compared to pre-pandemic days, there will be a fantastic mix of delegates and a great buzz around the show as our community gets back together to reconnect, exchange stories, and share insights.

What happens if The AI Summit Silicon Valley is forced to cancel the in-person event?

We are optimistic that we’ll be able to host a great in-person experience at the Santa Clara Convention Center. However, we all know from the past 18 months that sometimes things are beyond the scope of our control, so we are offering purchase protection on tickets.

If, for any reason, we are forced to cancel the in-person Silicon Valley event, all paid passes will automatically convert to Virtual All Access Passes and the balance will be converted to credit towards a 2022 pass. Full or partial refunds may also be requested as an alternative (subject to a 6% processing fee).
